MockRoad (the “Application”) is provided by Make Life Easy Apps (the “Service
Provider”) as a free application. This page explains what information the
Application handles, what it does not, and the choices available to you.
The short version: MockRoad works offline and does not require an
account. Your practice answers, exam results, bookmarks, and settings
never leave your device. The only information sent off your device is what is
needed to deliver push notifications, and only if you turn them on.
1. What the Application does
MockRoad is a study tool for learner drivers preparing for a written driving
theory or permit test. It provides:
- Practice questions organised by category, with explanations
- Timed mock exams matched to your selected region’s test length and pass mark
- A road sign library and a sign identification quiz
- A 2.5D parking practice simulator
- Progress tracking, bookmarks, and a study streak
All questions, road signs, and simulator content are bundled inside the
Application when you install it. The Application does not download study content,
and does not upload anything you type, answer, or select.
2. Information stored on your device only
The following is saved locally on your device using your device’s standard app
storage. It is not transmitted to the Service Provider or to anyone
else, and it is not backed up to any server operated by the Service
Provider:
- Your selected country and region
- Your answers to practice questions, and which questions you answered incorrectly
- Bookmarked questions
- Mock exam results and your best road sign quiz score
- Simulator level progress and stars earned
- Study streak and the date you last studied
- App preferences: theme, sound, vibration, simulator control side, graphics quality
- Notification preferences
You can erase all of this at any time from Settings → Data → Reset all
progress, or by uninstalling the Application. Uninstalling removes all
local data.
3. Information processed when notifications are enabled
The Application uses Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google
service, to deliver push notifications. Notifications are optional.
If you grant notification permission, the following is processed:
- A Firebase Cloud Messaging registration token. This is a
device identifier that allows a notification to reach your device. It is not
linked to your name, email address, or any account, because the Application has
no accounts. - A Firebase installation identifier, together with basic
technical information the Firebase SDK reports, such as your device model,
operating system version, and application version. - Your IP address, which is visible to Google’s servers as an
inherent part of any internet connection. - Topic subscriptions reflecting which notification
categories you switched on: study tips, streak and milestone alerts, new content
announcements, and promotional messages about the Service Provider’s other
applications.
This information is used solely to deliver the notifications you asked for. It
is not used for advertising, is not sold, and is not combined with any profile
about you.
If you do not grant notification permission, no registration token is
created and no notification data is processed. The Application remains
fully usable — every study feature works without notifications.
The daily study reminder is scheduled entirely on your device by your device’s
operating system. It does not involve any server and works without an internet
connection.
You can turn any notification category off at any time in Menu →
Notification Settings, or disable notifications entirely in your device’s
system settings.
4. Information the Application does not collect
To be explicit, the Application does not:
- Require or offer an account, and does not collect your name, email address,
phone number, date of birth, or any other identifying detail - Request or access your location, precise or approximate
- Request or access your camera, microphone, photos, contacts, files, SMS,
call log, or calendar - Contain any analytics, crash reporting, attribution, or advertising SDK
- Display advertisements
- Use the Android Advertising ID. The Application does not declare the
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_IDpermission - Track you across other apps or websites. On iOS, the Application does not
present an App Tracking Transparency prompt because it performs no tracking - Offer in-app purchases or subscriptions, and does not process payment
information - Upload your answers, results, or any study data to any server
5. Permissions
The Application requests only the following permissions:

No other permission is requested. Study content works without an internet
connection.
6. Third-party services
The Application relies on the following third-party services, which process
information under their own privacy policies:
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) — delivers push
notifications, as described in Section 3 - Google Play Services (Google) — required on Android for
Firebase Cloud Messaging to operate
The Application also contains links to pages on Google Play, including a screen
listing other applications by the Service Provider. Opening one of those links
hands you over to the Play Store app or your browser, which is governed by
Google’s privacy policy rather than this one. No information about you is passed
to those pages by the Application beyond the fact that a link was opened.

7. Data sharing
The Service Provider does not sell, rent, or trade your information.
Information is shared only with the third-party services named in Section 6,
and only to the extent needed to deliver notifications. The Service Provider may
also disclose information where required by law, valid legal process, or a lawful
government request, or where necessary to protect rights and safety or to
investigate fraud or misuse.

The Service Provider operates no database of users, because the Application has
no accounts.
9. International transfers
Firebase Cloud Messaging is operated by Google and processes notification
delivery data on servers that may be located outside your country of residence,
including in the United States. Those transfers take place under Google’s own
safeguards, which include Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable. See
Google’s privacy policy, linked in Section 6.
10. Your rights
Because the Application holds no account and stores your study data only on
your device, you can exercise most rights directly and immediately:
- Access and portability — your study data is on your device
and is not held by the Service Provider - Erasure — use Settings → Data → Reset all
progress, or uninstall the Application. Both remove all local data - Withdraw consent for notifications — turn categories off in
Menu → Notification Settings, or revoke the permission in your
device settings - Stop all processing — uninstall the Application
If you live in the European Economic Area or the United
Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR and UK GDPR, including the rights
of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, and data portability,
and the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. Where
the Application relies on consent as its legal basis — which is the case for
notifications — you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the
lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Where the Application relies on
legitimate interests, that interest is the delivery of the Application’s core
study features.
If you live in California, you have rights under the CCPA and
CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and correct personal information, and
the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. The
Service Provider does not sell or share personal information, and there
is therefore no opt-out to exercise.
To make a request, or to ask a question about any of the above, contact the
Service Provider using the details in Section 14 with the subject line
“Privacy Request”. Requests are answered within 30 days.
11. Children
The Application is a study aid for people preparing to take a driving theory or
learner permit test, and is therefore aimed at users old enough to begin that
process in their jurisdiction. It is not directed to children under 13, and the
Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
The Application does not contain advertising, in-app purchases, social
features, user-generated content, or any means of contacting another person.
If the Service Provider becomes aware that a child under 13 has provided
personal information, reasonable steps will be taken to delete it. Parents and
guardians who believe this has happened should use the contact details in
Section 14.
12. Security
Information transmitted between the Application and Firebase Cloud Messaging is
encrypted in transit using TLS. The Application does not enable cleartext HTTP
traffic on Android and does not disable App Transport Security on iOS.
Data stored on your device is protected by your device’s own operating system
protections and by your device lock. No method of electronic storage or
transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
13. Accuracy of study content
MockRoad is a practice tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or
operated by any licensing authority, driver licensing agency, motor vehicle
department, or government body in any country.
Practice questions and explanations are prepared from general driving-theory
knowledge and are progressively verified against official sources. They may not
reflect the most recent rule changes in your jurisdiction, and where a region has
no dedicated question set the Application will tell you on screen that it is
showing broader national content instead. Always confirm the rules with
your official handbook or licensing authority before taking your real
test. Passing a mock exam in the Application is not a prediction or
guarantee of any real-world test result.

15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any change will be posted
on this page with a revised effective date at the top.
If a future version of the Application introduces advertising, analytics,
accounts, in-app purchases, or any collection not described above, this Policy
will be updated before that version is released, and material
changes will additionally be announced within the Application.
Continued use of the Application after a revised Policy is posted constitutes
acceptance of it.
16. Consent
By using the Application, you consent to the handling of information as
described in this Privacy Policy. Notifications require your separate permission,
granted through your device, and can be withdrawn at any time.
